Geeta Dharmarajan has spent her life championing education and social equity. A journalist by training, she became one of India’s foremost educators when she founded Katha in 1988, driven by her belief that stories have the power to change lives.

Her early work as an editor and writer allowed her to craft narratives that would later be used to address real-world problems such as illiteracy, gender inequality, and poverty.

Led cultural heritage initiatives with the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), focusing on preserving India’s diverse cultural legacy.
